The Shipyard & 2 Constitution Condos Spotlight in Hoboken

shipyard01

The Hoboken Shipyard Circa 1950

Long before the Hoboken waterfront condos, apartments, Starbucks, & chic restaurants, Hoboken was mainly a shipping & industrial town. I recall visiting Hoboken in the 1980’s and seeing the remnants of the shipping era. Bars like Maxwell’s Bar & Restaurant on 11th & Washington St. which are currently filled with people interested in the local music scene were once filled with longshoremen after a day on the docks.

As part of the Hoboken redevelopment in the 1990’s, the Shipyard was transformed into waterfront residential apartments, commercial space, Shipyard marina, & one luxury Hoboken condo building, 2 Constitution Court.

The Shipyard Rental Properties

The majority of the Hoboken Shipyard is residential rental properties. Apartments include studios, 1 bedroom, 2 bedroom, & 3 bedroom residences. The buildings include the North Constitution, the Vanguard, the Independence, and coming soon…The Berkshire.
